OUR MISSION
First Light Mission is devoted to providing a place of refuge and fresh starts for the homeless in crisis by providing resources and temporary shelter in partnership with congregations and the community.
OUR vision
To empower and equip singles and families experiencing homelessness to find stability through sustainable housing solutions and life skills that allow them to thrive in all areas of life.
WHO WE SERVE
We serve anyone with minor age children (single parent, both parents, grandparent raising children) and single females.
In 2023, First Light Mission was proud to serve over 200 guests and people in need.
HOW WE SERVE
Guests that are homeless enter the program for a 30 day period. They will set obtainable goals and every 30 days they receive a review, and as long as they are making progress in obtaining their goals and making progress to a substainable life, they may submit a written request to extend their stay.
The key requirement is for us to see our guests working on the root of the problem that brought them to FLM in the first place.

I am very outgoing, I love hard and like to make the best out of life and help others to do so too. In my free time I like to spend time with my husband, daughters and doggies. I also enjoy riding my bike, reading and helping out on our small little farm. I started in social work several years ago after having life throw us some obstacles and having some wonderful people by our sides through it all. I enjoy helping people see their worth and being their cheerleader in this crazy life.

I am very sarcastic and love to laugh. In my free time I watch a lot of crime documentaries, read and spend time with my family, my three dogs and friends. I have grown up around the community we serve for as long as I can remember. I see a lot of our guests as family and want nothing more than to help them share their stories and succeed.

I’m very outgoing and love to make people laugh. In my free time I like to spend time with my friends, family and especially my dog. A couple of years ago I did a service project at IHN and I got to see how a little dinner and some compassion can really help someone and it goes a long way for them. I want to help people and learn about their experiences in life and help them get back on their feet and be there to support them through the whole process which is why I was happy when given the opportunity to be apart of the team.
