MORE THAN A SHELTER

First Light Mission is devoted to providing a place of refuge and fresh starts for the homeless in crisis but what we provide goes far beyond just a safe, dry place to sleep.

Below is a list of all the services we provide on a daily basis.

TRANSPORTATION

• Transport to medical appointments, school, and work
• Provide bus passes to all guests
• Transport to extracurricular activities, including sports gear

MEDICAL / HEALTH SUPPORT

• Help with prescription costs
• Assist with Medicaid and food stamps applications
• Help find primary doctors and medical care at low or no cost
• Respond to emergency calls from Goshen Police

HOUSING & TRANSITION SUPPORT

• Housing assistance in Goshen and Elkhart
• Furniture for transitioning to new homes
• Financial assistance and teaching budgets etc.

EMPLOYMENT & EDUCATION

• Housing assistance in Goshen and Elkhart

BASIC NEEDS & COMFORT

• Clothing closet for any county agency
• Provide hygiene products to all guests
• Provide bedding and blankets
• Offer comfort toys like teddy bears
• Provide car seats and bassinets

GOING EVEN FURTHER

• Provide birthday parties for children and guests in our care
• Take kids and guests on outing to local attractions
• Celebrate National Holidays with our guests
• Movie night once a month and provide snacks
• Providing haircuts and grooming services
